Okay, so the other part of that site from yesterday is http://www.radiodayz.com/AlbumReviews/AndYouThink/AndYouThink.htm, which happens to be a great review by the same guy (Cris) who interviewed Jim. Finally, one reviewer who won't call Dishwalla one-hit-wonders (which as well all know is untrue anyway, even if Rolling Stone, in all their sell-out glory proclaimed it so). Also I got bored and scanned some crap. And it's funny,... here, here, and here.

So who is this new guy? Whatever. Jim Wood has been playing the live keyboards for 'Walla since 1994 and he's just now getting to be an official member. What a jip!! So there's this great interview by your buddy and mine Cris Cohen on the Radiodayz site. Go to radiodayz.com and make sure you have real audio (what have I been telling you? Everyone should have it by now!!!) and enjoy Cris's interview with Jim. It's actually really great.

I love Dishwalla. We know this, right? But what the hell are they doing in the latest issue of YM Magazine? Our boys aren't teeny-bopper pin-ups! They're rock stars, dammit! They should be treated as such! I picked up YM along with a copy of Maximum Guitar with KoRn on the cover to make up for buying a teeny-bopper rag. Not only do I get to prove I'm not a teeny-bopper to the multi-pierced guy at the record shop where I buy my magazines, but maybe now I can finally figure out that break down-ish part in the middle of Good God by KoRn (transcribed inside Maximum Guitar for anyone else who plays) on my guitar.
Also, please use the SonicNet search engine at the bottom of this page. It's quite nifty and SonicNet helps keep this site going with those engines. At least click over and search the site 'cos it's really great and you can find loads of cool stuff there on almost any band.

The Alt List's AlternaChick just loves Dishwalla. Almost every time I get something from Alt List, she's talking about how great the new album is,... this is what she says this week,...
"...Dish Me. Dish Me. Dish Me.....Okay already. Here ya go! Dishwalla has a few little goodies to offer you, the loyal alternative rock fans, this month....so turn your good ear this way and increase the volume, because here we go! Rumor has it that Dishwalla will be touring this month at a number of dates around the US, but as always, you need to keep posted to the tour section of www.dishwalla.com to find out for sure. Speaking of the website, here comes dish #2. There is a brand new contest on their site, where you can win an autographed guitar! The third and final dish is the album. Have you heard it yet? I'm sorry, it's so hard to hear you out there...it almost sounded like you said you haven't yet?? Hmm, well I believe in you and I believe that when it comes to buying a great alternative rock album you will know where the ultimate dish of music can be found. Just as a reminder, Dishwalla's album is called, And You Think You Know What Life's About'....just in case you might have forgotten!!!..."
Cool huh? This guitar giveaway is also mentioned on the cover of the new Guitar magazine (obviously, for us guitar-people, if you don't dig guitar, screw off). Also check out Circus magazine, with my Beasties on the cover.

Rodney was caught being grumpy in the latest issue of Circus magazine (with the Beasties on the cover,... I love Mike D.). There's an old picture of him and a blurb about how he doesn't care how the album does. Whatever. That's cool though 'cos we all have it and he can be grumpy 'cos he's a rad guitar player,... grumpy, grumpy, grumpy,...

Wanna talk to the boys? Kewl, me too! But you have to be smack in front of your 'puter screen tomorrow at 7 (seven for the numeroligally-impared,... if that's even a word). Head (I said head,... hehehehehe) on over to http://www.rocktropolis.com/main/events/smartypants/ and you could win cool junk when J.R. and Jim Jim the keyboard Man (okay, that rhyme only works with people named Dan and Fran, but I tried) ask you questions,... um,... about themselves,... whatever, I want a new Dishwalla t-shirt, mine's all nasty with a stain on it from when I fell in the parking lot at Red Lobster. What the hell was I doing at Red Lobster dude?! I'm a vegetarian,... hmmm,... this is messed up,... I have to go have a talk with my mum, but I'll be here tomorrow, so, like, stop by the chat and see how much you know and if you can win me a new Dishwalla t-shirt of a poster or something 'cos I'm so damn nice and built this web site for you!! And what the hell do I get from you!?!?! Huh!?!? Nothing! That's what!! Big fat nothing in a can with a child-proof top!! I can't even play with it 'cos I can't open the nothing! The least you could do is give me a t-shirt!!!
The bitching exhibited above has nothing to do with Dishwalla and they'll be pist if you tell them Ev went off like that so don't. This has been a disclaimer.

09.29.98
We're on a mission baby!! Well yeah, you've known this forever. We want to help out little boys of Dishwalla. To help, click here and do what nice Mr. Greg says 'cos if we do this,... um, click there, it says what to do,...
I've been slighting on the updates, sorry, head over to dishwalla.com for new tour dates (Whoo hoo! They're comin' to Pittsburgh!).

08.09.98
Rodney got married 7.11.98, George got married YESTERDAY (8.8.98)!!!! to the lovely Caroline,... yay!!!! Congrads guys!!! And I'm pretty sure Scot's wife is going to have another baby, but I'm not totally sure,... so three down, two to go, right? I'm pretty sure Jim isn't married yet but I don't know much about him,...

08.07.1998
Okay, the CD comes out next Tuesday, everyone go buy it, 'kay? That and the Depeche Mode tribute record For The Masses which came out last Tuesday and the Avengers soundtrack will come out,... uh, the Tuesday after next I think, but I'm not totally sure,...
(By the way, just for the record, I had a sound clip up before the official site,... I just kinda' want credit for that,... I had the first clip of the new record up anywhere on the 'net,... even though dishwalla.com's sound clips are much clearer,...)

08.04.1998
The Depeche Mode tribute album (For The Masses) came out today, they did "Policy Of Truth" (and quite well I'm sure you'll agree), the Depeche mode web site, which can be found at http://www.1500records.com/ has more info. Here's a snip from the page,...
"Depeche Mode were one of the few bands I really related to while growing up," says Dishwalla's J.R. Richards. "My first instrument was keyboards, and all the other kids at high school were listening to hair bands. I was totally enthralled with Depeche Mode and their twisted romantic take on music."

07.29.1998
I got some more info on that concert Dishwalla will be participating in with, among others, Third Eye Blind. Check out concert.infoseek.com Aug. 14-16. Thanx to Mr. Michael (infoseek dude and all around nice guy) for filling me in,... I'm a bit slow, the testing fried more brain cells than they's first anticipated.

07.22.1998
I promised that there sound sample, and I gall darn gone and done it (I hate Shania Twain,...), anyway, click here to hear it, and if you don't have RealAudio, go to Real.Com and download it 'cos I'm going to use real audio for my audio/video stuff here from now on (I learned a little HTML and came back and fixed the site back up if you were wondering why I just got around to making it all adorable and stuff, not to mention worthy,... since it's been up for two years,...).

07.21.1998
Tickets went on sale for the third date of A Day in the Garden on Saturday (July 18) at 9 a.m. at Ticketmaster. The show features Third Eye Blind, Goo Goo Dolls, Joan Osborne, Marcy Playground, and Dishwalla (allstar, July 19) for the low price of $25 (in advance) or $35 (at the door).
Info thanx to the Third Eye Blind Site "Horror Show",... it's starting! Yay! Expect loads of promo, like late night TV and radio shows to promote the new stuff,... also, J.R. has said that he thinks Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind is "a dick" and Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind says he thinks J.R. is "a dick",... all I have to say is, will someone video tape the back stage action for me??

07.18.1998
I just got word that the new album, which will be called And You Think You Know What Life Is About, will be released August 17th. A tour to go along with the new album will begin the week after that. YAY! The first single is called "Once In A While", and I will have at least a clip of that song up by the end of the weekend.

07.07.1998
Dishwalla are going to be on the soundtrack to the movie The Avengers (hmmm, I really wonder what song will be used,...). I guess this is J.R.'s dream come-true, he gets to meet Miss Emma Peel!! Well, okay, maybe not the real Miss Emma Peel, but at least Uma Therman, who plays her in the movie. This might mean "Miss Emma Peel" could get released as a single,... let's hope for a video,...

05.29.1998
Dishwalla have promised the new album (not even a working-title that I've been informed of as of yet) will be out before the end of the year,... this time last year they were sure it would have been out by Christmas,... I'll keep you posted as I learn more from Dave or J.R.

06.05.1998
Dishwalla are recording a track for the new Depeche Mode tribute album, no word when the album will be released yet though, if anyone knows anything else about it, please e-mail me about it.

04.21.1998
I got word from David, Dishwalla's manager, on the the new record!!! Here's what he had to say: "The guys are finally going in to record their record next week. We spent some time finding the right producer and I think we have found him. His name is Marc Waterman, from London. I guess his biggest record to date is the last Elastica record, but he is basically a really good producer who favors edgier guitar rock bands(usually from Britian). We are very excited to get the record going. We are hoping for a summer release - hopefully July with a June single release. We are going to need some help spreading the word about the new record once we finish recording and are ready to promote it. Thanks. --Dave"
